Did you know that:
– Designing a bathroom is not just about seeing it in a new light,
No interior designer will take on a project without a well-measured room, which is not only related to buying the right amount of tiles,
but mainly to planning new plumbing and electrical points (three zones),
helping you place lighting, or providing professional advice on buying equipment or hardware.
Ergonomics is a keyword in the arrangement of a bathtub, shower, cabinets, or sinks.
It is often overlooked, but it is closely linked to
comfortable use of the bathroom.
– three zones into which the bathroom is divided:
Zone 0 – this is the interior of the bathtub or shower tray.
Devices powered by alternating current (AC) 12 V or direct current (DC) 30 V (power from so-called SELV circuits) are allowed. These may be, for example, jets of hydromassage devices, or light sources. Class of protection IPX7 is required.
Zone I is the space defined by the external edges of the bathtub or shower, up to a height of 2.25 meters. Permanently connected water heaters, shower pumps, fans, lighting fixtures, and devices powered by 25 V AC or 60 V DC are allowed. Under the bathtub, there may be hydro massage devices. Class of protection IPX5 is required.
Zone II – up to 0.6 m from the border of zone I, up to a height of 2.25 m;
Devices like in Zone I are allowed, as well as special sockets with an isolating transformer for shavers – practically not found in Poland. Class of protection IPX4 is required.
In zones 0-II, it is prohibited to install sockets, light switches, junction boxes, etc. Therefore, devices must be permanently installed. Switches and sockets and devices powered by them, such as washing machines, must be located outside zone II.
